​KCS’s 2024–25 season will be one for the ages: artfully crafted, personal-best concert programs from each of the talented finalists for our Artistic Director position. 

All performances will take place at Bastyr University Chapel, Kenmore.


Sing Love, Shout Joy! — Saturday, Dec. 7, at 3 pm — Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 pm
A rich, inventive holiday program designed and conducted by Dr. Brennan Michaels and joined by our partner orchestra, Philharmonia Northwest.
Light and Love Abound — Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 3 pm
A lush and lyrical celebration of love, designed and conducted by Dr. Daniel Mahraun and joined by Philharmonia Northwest.
The Sacred Veil — Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 3 pm
The West Coast premiere of a full choral-orchestral version of Eric Whitacre’s moving new masterpiece, The Sacred Veil, highlights this concert designed and conducted by Dr. Steven Zopfi and joined by Philharmonia Northwest.

Three Bs and One E – Great works by Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms - plus a stunning new cantata by Reena Esmail!

Our 35th anniversary season finale features not two, not three, but four masterworks…a glorious early Bach cantata…Beethoven’s sublime Choral Fantasy for piano, chorus, orchestra, and with soloist Craig Sheppard…Brahms’ heavenly Nänie, with beautiful melodies, and a stirring text by Friedrich Schiller (of Ode To Joy fame)...and, for the grand finale, Say Your Name, the Seattle-area premiere of a stunning new voting-rights cantata by Reena Esmail, Seattle Symphony's recent composer-in-residence. We are joined in this performance by Philharmonia Northwest.

All You Need is Love – KCS’ Annual Celebration of Love (including a Dale Trumbore world premiere)

​This delightful concert features works celebrating love--both romantic and philanthropic. With music by Lennon & McCartney, Morten Lauridsen, Rosephanye Powell, and Ben Folds, there is sure to be something for everyone! Plus, a newly composed world premiere by Dale Trumbore and complimentary ​chocolates make this an offer you can’t refuse!

Included with your ticket, join KCS for a festive 35th anniversary toast and fundraiser at our season sponsor, The Lodge at St. Edward Park, post-concert. Meet the Artistic Director and new commission composer Dale Trumbore, mingle with the singers, and hear about KCS' plans for next season and beyond. Handelian Holidays – Messiah Choruses & Modern Masterworks

Choruses from Handel’s beloved Messiah headline our annual holiday concerts, which also include works by outstanding composers of the 20th and 21st centuries: Florence Price, Reena Esmail, Dale Trumbore, and Ola Gjeilo. We are delighted to be joined by our orchestra partner Philharmonia Northwest as well as a group of talented area high school singers. Come see why KCS’ holiday concerts have become an annual tradition for so many.

Part One of our 2023 holiday concert with Philharmonia Northwest, featuring choruses from Handel’s Messiah.
Part Two of our 2023 holiday concert with Philharmonia Northwest, featuring "Modern Masterworks." We were joined for two selections by the Lyrica Choir from Lake Washington High School. Works by: Reena Esmail, Dale Trumbore, Florence Price, Sally Beamish, Ola Gjeilo, Alvin Trotman, and Jerry Rubino.
Our 2022 holiday concert featured JS Bach’s Magnificat and Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols.  The chorus was joined by orchestra partner Philharmonia Northwest.

KCS put together a virtual recording of “O Love”, composed by Elaine Hagenberg and based on a hymn by George Matheson.
