The updated logo design carries forward the repeat sign and five staff lines from the old logo, for continuity, but is visually simpler and more compact. Its dynamic fluidity communicates forward movement and excitement. The screen versions, one of which is shown here, take advantage of the full color spectrum, which will be an asset to our online presence.
Colors: A foundation of blues and greens represents Kirkland’s lakes and trees, and a flourish of lively spring-green on top reflects KCS’s energy and joy. These five distinct yet harmonious colors can also represent the diversity of our membership (E pluribus unum!) and the range of choral music we perform.
Font: The new and old font are both stylistic descendants of the same classic parent font, with similar strokes and shapes. (See old logo at right.) The new text is also stacked and spaced similarly to the old, creating further continuity. The new font is highly readable and brings us improved clarity at small sizes.
